Brilliant Brickwork

Brilliant Brickwork Wrap is a fun combination of everchanging yarn colors, relaxing garter stitch and interesting construction methods that provide an addictive knitting experience.

This project is created for adventurous beginners and beyond, providing row by row instructions and EOR counts throughout the project. The rectangular wrap is created in garter stitch with slip stitch edges. The construction is reminiscent of a log-cabin type knitting project, where stitches are picked up by using the slipped edge stitches from previous sections. It is created in two pieces which are then joined at the center with the side triangles, so no seaming is required.

Brickwork is designed in fingering weight yarn, but could be done in any weight (although the amounts of yarn and overall size would change). This pattern is designed to use one (24 x10g) mini set and 1 (100g/400yd) skein of a contrast color to create a colorful graphic design. However, in the Design Modification Section, there are a number of possibilities discussed including how to use a 12x20g set, 10g scraps, and even 3 full skein fade colors.
